Japanese animation (otherwise known as "anime" which is pronounced "ah-nee-may") and comics (also known as "manga"), has become a growing phenomenon here in the West. Since its emergence several years ago, anime and manga have been gathering fans from all over the world. There have even been conventions out in the west coast of the United States targeted strictly toward Japanese animation and manga fans. What people find so appealing rests in their individual tastes, for both anime and manga cover such a wide variety of subjects, ranging from giant robots, high school dilemmas, sword and sorcery, sports, comedy, romance, music, and much more. But with such a large selection, where does one look for more information? That is why the Animatrix Network has been created.

The Animatrix Network is a fan club, by fans for fans, dedicated to helping those who share a common interest in the amazing world of Japanese animation and manga. We have contacts from all over the world who could give us the most up-to-date information on anime related news and events. The Network shares a symbiotic trading relationship with a number of different fan clubs across the United States. Animatrix, itself, is one of the largest clubs in the Midwest, and we are always eager to make new contacts with other clubs as well as subtitlers and other collectors. Animatrix tries to provide answers to people's questions and become, in essence, an important source for their needs. Plus, there are a number of artists and writers out there who are eager to show their works, and we encourage them and everyone else to share in their achievements. Over the years, interest in Japanese animation and manga has expanded into other areas as well, so we've opened the doors to other sub-cultures, such as anime influenced live-action movies from Asian filmmakers, who have created films such as Crying Freeman, Wicked City, and City Hunter. Our monthly meetings have special screenings of the newest anime releases available and everyone is invited to attend. Video game enthusiasts and fantasy role-playing fans are always welcome to bring in their favorite games, and we plan to develop our international trading policy so that members can get in contact with fans from all over the world.

We intend to go even further as the number of fans increase each year. Everyone is encouraged to contribute something of themselves and to take part in this ever-growing tidal wave of anime and manga fans. If what you like is good animation with mature and interesting storylines, incredible adventures in both science-fiction and fantasy, and appealing wide-eyed character designs, then join the Animatrix Network and leap into new realms of Japanese animation and manga.
