ACE— HIROMI OKA'S SUCCESS STORY.

High school freshman Hiromi Oka embarks on a journey to greatness with nothing but basic skills, emotional instability and a lack of faith in her potential.

Ace O Nerare follows the ordeal of a teenager that wants to become the best tennis player. It's not exactly a smooth and free road there, though. She has to face a lot of obstacles such as the jealousy of her teammates at the Nishi High tennis club and intense hard work that comes with being the best.

She looks up to skilled, experienced tennis player Reika Ryūzaki, whose work ethic and success she hopes to emulate and replicate.

With the help of coach Jin Munakata, she trains as hard as possible, pushing her limits and smashing through the expectations that were set for her. 

One of her biggest roadblocks is herself. She has to maintain a calm headed persona and avoid being pressured into making decisions that will jeopardize her chances at the top, and she almost cracked under this pressure, but she persevered and kept her focus straight, a move that paid off in the end.

This 52-episode series, released between 1973 and 1974 is based on a storyline that could be relatable to anyone, and it still achieves enjoyability, something hard for most series in cinema as a whole to do.
