ANIME'S GREATEST SUPPORTING CHARACTERS: PART 4

For part 4 of this series, I give you the greatest of the Gojo clan.

The Honored One.

A master of many skills, I dare say.

Mentor. Reformer. Teacher. Sorcerer.

Satoru Gojo.

For many at Tokyo Jujutsu High, including main character Yuji Itadori, Satoru Gojo was a figure of authority. Well, not exactly fitting to the mold of authority that we've come to understand in the world at large. Not overly strict and iron handed.

A jovial, approachable, playfully cocky person. That's what he was, at least on the surface. Gojo-Sensei was more than just a free guy. He was too powerful to be that. Beneath all the confidence, he was a clear headed man with a lot of optimism. He was an advocate at some junctures, a protector at some others. All this is because he wanted the Jujutsu community to be more. To do more.

A lot of talent sat in young ones, untapped, potentially unrealized. In his own way, he wanted the world to be a better place for people that decided to toe his path.

Being the first of his clan in four centuries to receive the Limitless technique and Six Eyes powers, two abilities that enable him to manipulate space and engage in combat for abnormally extended periods, is enough reason to believe he is one of the greatest men his clan ever produced.

In a way, he managed to keep the hierarchy in check, because they knew he had what it took to take power over from them.

Satoru Gojo’s style and approach to life, along with his wisdom, power and other gifts make up for why he's one of anime's greatest supporting characters.

Do you think he's deserving of that title?
