We hope— even if we most likely know how it went —that Monday was good on you. 


It’s the first week of March, and a lot is in store for anime lovers worldwide. 


In classic Animatrix style, take a walk with us, as we give you the most exciting updates and big announcements. 


NEW TV ANIME “MAO” TO AIR IN A MONTH.


The release of the much expected Mao series, based on a manga original by Rumiko Takahashi has been scheduled for April 4, 2026. A new key visual for the fantasy action series is out now and a confirmation has also been made with regards to the size of its debut season— 26 episodes, sub divided into two cours.


STAR BLAZERS, CHAPTER XI: THE ANNOUCEMENT.


A new trailer has been dropped on Youtube to announce the release of Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 3199’s penultimate chapter. This fresh chapter, slated for release on June 26, consists of episodes 19-22. The last four episodes, all part of the seventh chapter, will be released subsequently. No details have been divulged about it yet.


NEW CAST FOR LEGEND OF THE PHOENIX.


A new member has been added to the cast of Oedo Fire Slayer: Legend of the Phoenix by the name of Hidesuke. The voice of this character will be brought to life by renowned seiyuu, Ken Yasuda. The series, now at seven episodes released, will continue to air a new episode every Sunday as earlier announced. 


BROADCAST SCHEDULE ALTERATION FOR SI-VIS: THE SOUND OF HEROES.


Instead of the usual Sunday new episode broadcast, Studio VOLN has announced that March 8 will not see any new broadcast, in respect to the Nagoya women’s marathon coverage across the country. This means that episode 22 will be held up until March 15, and episodes 23 and 24 will air at later dates, most likely March 22 and 29 respectively.


NEW RELEASE: THE DROPS OF GOD.


A new two cour length anime directed by Kenji Itoso has been announced for debut on April 10. The new series, delving into the scuffle surrounding the death of a wine curating billionaire, will stream on Crunchyroll. A trailer has been released on Youtube to this effect.


BEASTARS COMES TO MAJESTIC CLOSE.


Part two of Beastars’ final season will premiere on Netflix this Saturday. The final preview is out on Youtube; three new cast members— Ten, Miso and Savon —have been added for the final touch of brilliance that we all so dearly crave. 


TRIGUN STARGAZE CARRIES ON.


Episode 8 of Trigun Stargaze titled “Goodbye, my friend” was released last Saturday. All eight episodes are currently available on Crunchyroll. Four more episodes will be released from March 7 to March 28, 2026, all on Saturday, as announced in January.


HIROMU ARAKAWA RETURNS WITH A BANG.


Another manga from the FullMetal Alchemist author will receive a 24 episode, two cour TV anime adaptation titled “Daemons of the Shadow Realm” (Yomi no Tsugai). It will be directed by Masahiro Ando and make its debut on April 4, 2026.


GRAND BLUE, GRAND ENTRANCE?


The slow roll out for Grand Blue continues. Following an announcement for Season three in September of 2025, more info will now be released about the much anticipated Season 3 on March 18, 2026. New cast members have reportedly been added and a more detailed and elaborate announcement will be made at the aforementioned date. Stay tuned.


A NEW TIDE IS COMING.


An official teaser has been released by Studio M2 for the upcoming anime Gate 2: Tides of Conflict. Even with its air date over a year away, the fans are as excited as ever for the slow burn that leads to this new release.
